Why choose tarmac for your driveway?
Tarmac: a durable and long-lasting choice of surface
Tarmac is the commmonly known brand name for Asphalt. Other brands include Hanson Asphalt that either use Tar or Bitumen in the contents. Over the past 50 years the Tarmac brand has become such a common household name, that few know it’s name by any other means.
We all refer to it as Tarmac, but actually we mean Asphalt. With our tarmac driveways Northampton, we install Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA), also called stone-matrix asphalt. SMA is widely used asphalt where we need a resistant and durable material for heavy traffic roads, so it’s perfect for drives. It’s a combination of mastic bitumen, course aggregates, fillers, binding agents and fibre.
Low Maintenance
Tarmac and asphalt are both low maintenance driveway surfaces. Typically 1 jet wash per annum to keep the driveway in tip top condition.
Weather resistant
They are resistant to extreme cold, heat and frequent rains. They can also withstand heavy weights, making them an excellent choice for driveways.
Long lasting
Tarmac is a great choice of driveway surface if you’re looking for a long-lasting driveway with minimal maintenance.

Looks fantanstic with picture frame borders and entrance patterns.
When coupled with picture frame borders and entrance patterns, tarmac driveways look fantastic. These blocks helps provide a strong border and improve longevity.
Tarmac driveways are typically cheaper than block paved driveways, due to being quicker and more efficient to install. A tarmac driveway takes around 3 days.

No. Only once the the driveway or patio is finished and you are 100% happy do we then finalise the transaction and request payment. We are confident that we will install you a patio or driveway which you will be delighted with.
How long does a typical patio or driveway take to install?
Typically, we allow 7 days to complete a project. This does however depend on size and materials. Some tarmac driveways can be completed in a couple of days. It really depends on your existing driveway and requirements.
What is the best type of driveway?
Tarmac is our most popular driveway material, because it is quick and low maintenance. If you already have a tarmac or block paving driveway and you wish to replace it, resin is then our most popular.
